Deposits and Payments

In order to hold a baby hedgehog, we must receive a minimum deposit of $50. This is a non refundable deposit. If you change your mind, the deposit will not be refunded. Please only reserve a hedgehog if you are sure that it is the right choice for you. If you can not pick up your hedgehog at weaning age, we are willing to hold on to it as long as he or she is paid in full.

For your convenience, checks, money orders and cash for your deposit. ash is expected at pickup.

Pickup and Shipping

I do offer shipping to legal states only. The only way to ship a hedgehog is by airlines. This is not cheap and costs between $200 and $250. This is in addition to the cost of the hedgehog.

At this time, I am unable to do any driving to meet you. Gas prices are just way to high!

PICKYHEDGIE babies are only sold to private individuals as personal pets, family members or companions, We also sell to other breeders who sell to us.
No Pet Stores, No Wholesale, We are serious about that!

My goal is to raise, happy healthy sound hoglets, I breed to meet the IHA show standards as closly as possible. I aspire to produce SHOW potential hoglets, the parents of Pickyhedgie babies are chosen with these goals in mind. Parents are on site for viewing at Buyers request, your baby will go home with you hand tamed, accompanied by a birth certificate, registration certificate, care sheet, sleepy hat, and two week food supply. All babies are registered with the International Hedgehog Registry, as are the parents.

How can you be sure about my babies?

If you like, I can give you phone numbers or e-mail addresses (with their permission) of people who have bought one or more of my babies. You can also check with the International Hedgehog Registry as well as clubs like the International Hedgehog Association and Hedgehog Breeders Alliance. I am on the Recommended Breeders list for the IHA and HBA.

You are welcome to come and see my hedgehogs anytime. I love to show them off and brag a little about how sweet and loving they are.

MY WARRANTY

I have been breeding hedgehogs since 1995.
Babies born here at "Pickyhedgies" are warranted for one year from date of purchase against any kind of medical or physical defects. I will continue the warranty for an accidental death as long as you can prove through a necropsy the death was not a result of neglect. I offer a life time warranty against any kind of genetic defect that may arise later on in life that was not noticeable at birth. We try to prevent genetic diseases in our lines by breeding responsibly, but sometimes one will show up without warning. I provide a buy back policy if you decide the baby is not for you or you just can't keep it. If you return it within the first 30 days you will receive a full refund, 30-45 days 1/2 of the amount. 45-60 days 1/4 the amount, after 60 days there is no refund however, I encourage you to return the hedgehog to us.

I am currently a member of the International Hedgehog Association where I hold the position of Registry/Breeder Director on the IHA Board. I am also the Co-President of the Hedgehog Breeders Alliance. I own and oversee the Breeders Helping Breeders Yahoo Group. I am a proud member of the Hedgehog Welfare Society. I am entrusted by the IHA and the HBA with the job of maintaining all information going into and out of the International Hedgehog Registry. I am currently mentoring 5 new breeders throughout the U.S. and have mentored numerous breeders in the past who are now mentors themselves.
